I read Eclipse when I was introduced to the Twilight Saga and I have to say it was a good book.
Later when I read the rest of the books I understood why many people (mostly girls, but guys too,) liked them but I myself wasn't that much of a fan.
Like Kage said, I was also expecting something new to come to the table. Alas, nothing much.
Unfortunately, when the last book Breaking Dawn came out, my entire school went into the crazy-obsessed-fans department and I didn't mind them doing that (because fankly, I would do that too when it comes to my favorite movie/book/series...etc), but the moment things began to turn sour was when
nearly every girl on campus absolutely refused to talk about anything else.
I was getting pretty irritated about it and things doubled when the movie came out too and at that point I reached my limit.
.
While I don't mind the series as a whole, I think it's the way some people take it that makes it less appealing to me.
As for Inkheart, I read it when I was 10 or 11, and I was fascinated by certain elements in the story such as characters coming out of a seemingly harmless book and that things on paper are definitely less dangerous if they stay on paper.
I saw the movie and I enjoyed it, even if the plot was not the same as that in the book. The acting was good and I was impressed with the fire-eater scene because it was the real thing (we had an exchange assistant-teacher at our school last year and she was a real fire-eater.). However, the movie's biggest weakness was the ending, it seemed corny and didn't quite fit in with the rest.
P.S - If your a Twilight fan... please don't be angry with me, I'm mostly referring to people I actually know, 'coz so far, I haven't seen anyone here act over-the-top about it.
